About POWERGRID: Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) is an Indian state-owned electric utilities Company headquartered in Gurgaon, India. POWERGRID, the Central Transmission Utility (CTU) of India and a Navratna Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Power, Govt. of India is engaged in power transmission business with the mandate for planning, co-ordination, supervision and control over complete inter-State transmission system and operation of National & Regional Power Grids. Power Grid wheels about 50% of the total power generated in India on its transmission network. Power Grid has a pan-India presence with around 95,329 Circuit-km of Transmission network and 156 EHVAC & HVDC sub-stations with a total transformation capacity of 138,673 MVA. The Inter-regional capacity is enhanced to 28,000 MW. Power Grid has also diversified into Telecom business and established a telecom network of more than 25,000 km across the country. Power Grid has consistently maintained the transmission system availability over 99.00% which is at par with the International Utilities.

Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL) invites applicants for the vacancies of Graduate Engineers in the month of January – Febuary.
Selection Procedure: GATE + GD + Interview
The selections are made on the basis of GATE Score. 85% weightage will be given to the GATE score in the selection process On the basis of GATE score, the candidates will be shortlisted for further selection process comprising of:
- Group Discussion / Group Task.
- Personal Interview for assessment of different facets of knowledge, skill, attitude and aptitude.
Candidates qualifying in the GATE exam will be called for Group Discussion and Personal Interview in the ratio of 1:3 (3 candidates called against 1 vacancy) keeping in view the provision of reservation for SC/ST/OBC/PH.
PGCIL ET Exam Pattern: The Graduate Engineers desirous of taking up a career with PGCIL are required to appear in EE Paper of GATE.
Eligibility Criteria: Minimum 65% marks in BE/ B.Tech/ B.Sc. Engg/ AMIE for General/OBC Candidates and 50% marks for SC/ST/PWD Candidates in Engineering or Technology. Although Age relaxation exists for reserved categories, the maximum age for General Candidates is 28 years.
- Eligible Branches: Electrical/ Electrical (Power)/ Electrical and Electronics/ Power Systems Engineering.
Candidates currently in final year of their engineering studies may also apply.
Compensation / Pay: PGCIL is offering Executive Trainees in the of Scale of pay of Rs. 24900-50500/- . Cost-to-Company (CTC) will be Rs 7.78 lakhs per annum during training and Rs. 13.95 lakhs per annum after the completion of training.
