About institute: Government Engineering College, Jaffarpur, New Delhi, India, ‘GEC Delhi’ was established by the Department of Training and Technical Education, Government of Delhi and named after the first chief minister of Delhi, Ch. Brahm Prakash. The aim of the Government of Delhi is to develop this college as a centre of excellence in Information Technology, Civil and Environmental Engineering. The college is affiliated to Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, a state university established by the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi.

Campus/ Other Facilities: The institute obtained 8.5 acres (34,000 m2) in south west Delhi, adjoining Rao Tula Ram Memorial Hospital in Jaffarpur Kalan Village. It shares its boundaries with Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya in the east. Most of the infrastructure and student facilities are under development in the college. Hostel facility for students is available in the campus of Ambedkar University, Dwarka. The college also hosts the EDUSAT facility for teaching via video conferencing. Gymnasium facility is available for students as well as staff and faculty. The campus is located in south west Delhi being the best location for its speciality trade, Civil Engineering giving wide access of open land for surveying & other major fields of study in Civil Engineering.

Festivals/Societies: ProGECtion is annual Festof college . “ProGECtion” denoted by accent to “PROJECTION”, reflects on the idea of projecting the cultural, technical, environmental, and academic efforts of our college CBP Government Engineering College, Delhi. Another reason to alter the word PROJECTION to ProGECtion was to highlight our college’s name “Government Engineering College” (GEC).The college festival ProGECtion ’13 was splendiferous. It was a two day fiesta (15th March and 16th March, 2013) of live music, enchanting performances and enriching presentations and competitions.
