Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) Probationary Engineers (PE) Exam

About:  Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) is a state-owned Electronics Company with about nine factories, and few regional offices in India. It is owned by the Indian Government & primarily manufactures advanced electronic products for the Indian Armed Forces and also produces Electronics Voting Machines (EVM) for the Common Public. BEL is one of the eight PSUs under Ministry of Defence, Government Of India. It has also earned the Government’s Navratna status. Its nine factories located in Bangalore, Panchukla, Kotdwara, Ghaziabad, Pune, Hyderabad, Navi Mumbai, Machilipatnam and Chennai.

Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) invites applicants for the vacancies of Probationary Engineers (PE) in the month of December – February.

Selection Procedure:  GATE + GD + Interview                                                  

The selections are made on the basis of GATE Score. On the basis of GATE score, the candidates will be shortlisted for further selection process comprising of:

  • Group Discussion / Group Task.
  • Personal Interview for assessment of different facets of knowledge, skill, attitude and aptitude.

Candidates qualifying in the GATE exam will be called for Group Discussion and Personal Interview in the ratio of 1:3 (3 candidates called against 1 vacancy) keeping in view the provision of reservation for SC/ST/OBC/PH.

BEL PE Exam Pattern:  The Graduate Engineers from the below mentioned Branches, desirous of taking up a career with BEL are required to appear in GATE.

Eligibility Criteria:  Minimum 60% marks in BE/ B.Tech for General/OBC Candidates and 50% marks for SC/ST/PWD Candidates in Engineering or Technology. Although Age relaxation exists for reserved categories, the maximum age for General Candidates is 25 years.

  • Eligible Branches:  Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science and Information Technology & Electronics and Communication Engineering.

Candidates currently in final year of their engineering studies may also apply.

Compensation / Pay:  BEL is offering Probationary Engineers in the Pay Scale of Rs. 16,400 – 3% – 40,500 in E-II Grade with other benefits like DA, HRA, CF, PRP, Medical facility, etc. Cost-to-Company (CTC), will be around Rs. 4.8 lakhs per annum.
